Good chart overall.
Winners-Daniel, Gimmie Love, My Love.
Right Time and Long Train Runnin' are both decent, a little tired of them.
Don't know 6, 3, and 2.

Hi Dawn. Great chart. I graduated from high school in 1973 so the summer of '73 was the last true summer of my youth. Musically, this is a great start to what was a great summer.
So many great classics songs on this chart. Right Place Wrong Time & Will it Go Round in Circles never get enough airplay, but are a very good songs.
Long Train Running is one of the Doobie's best
Daniel & Kodachrome provide some light rock to the chart
Give Me Love & My Love (& Will it Go Round in Circles) remind us how popular the individual Beatles still are.
Playground in my Mind is a fun song, maybe a little overplayed on oldies stations today.
Not familiar with Pillow Talk & I'm Gonna Love Just a Little bit More Baby.

Hi Dawn!
Good chart today. (although I think I remember some of these from a post of about 2-3 weeks ago.)
10. Right Place Wrong Time - Dr. John What ever happened to Dr. John. This was a pretty good song, and I thought at the time that he was developing a following (he was even mentioned in Reunion's "Life Is A Rock") - but he kinda disappeared (or at least went somewhere where I didn't follow)
9. Long Train Runnin - Doobie Brothers OK, but not the best Doobie
8. Daniel - Elton John A little different Elton sound here. I really like this song. I remember falling asleep on an airplane with this going through my head. - Yes, I was on my way to Spain.) lol
7. Kodachrome - Paul Simon Didn't really care for early solo Simon. But I do like the way he sort of explodes out the word "cr@p"
6. Pillow Talk - Sylvia Its OK. (Liked her better with Mickey on Love Is Strange, though)
5. Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth) - George Harrison I would say that it's a little to "preachy" for me, but - Hey. It's George, so it's OK.
4. Will It Go Round in Circles - Billy Preston Real good song. The man had a lot of talent! I'm surprised he didn't have a lot more hits.
3, I'm Gonna Love You Just a Little More Baby - Barry White Every time A Barry White song is listed, my answer is and will always be the same: It sounds like everything else Barry White ever did.
2. Playground in My Mind - Clint Holmes A simple little kids' song. Hard to drive out of your mind, however.
1. My Love - Paul McCartney & Wings Yeah -- now I went back and checked. You did the '73 post on June 2. My Love was #1 for that week too. It could stay #1 for half the year as far as I'm concerned. -- Real good song. woh-wo-woh -woh.

Wasn't a good week for me- I only like "Right Place Wrong Time", and "Pillow Talk" (and that's definitely a guilty pleasure).
"Right Place Wrong Time" has the phrase "brain salad surgery" in it! (to be borrowed by EL & P).

Going Back to '73 Dr. John - It took a while for me to warm up the the song have it on vinyl - a ronco compilation - and on CD - Even more Dazed and Confused . The Doobies - My oldest brother played this all the time in the house growing up - a big fave. Elton John - Elton could do no wrong back then . Just a great song . Excellent lyrics as always from Bernie. Paul Simon - Speaking of lyrics ,I've mentioned this before but "When I think back to all the crap I learned in high - school" has to be one of the best opening lines in a song ever! Sylvia - I haven't heard it for a while but I have it on 8 -track on yes Dawn you guest It! LOL Ktel's Music Explosion. George Harrison - One of George's best remember hearing it lots back in the 70's . Just finished reading a book on him. Billy Preston - Always enjoyed his solo tunes - This was actually the second one I remember hearing Nothing From Nothing was the first. Barry White - Go Barry! - I actually kind of like alot of his stuff . Funky Clint Holmes - remember singing this when I was little . I read something a while back that even though it was a huge hit , Clint thought the song actually hurt his career. Paul McCartney - What can you say , a fantastic ballad written of course for Linda , nice guitar solo too from Henry McCulloch - middle brother had the 45 heard it all the time - love the B side also.

Let's see..
Right Place, Wrong Time-My fave on this list. I actually own the "In The Right Place" CD.
Daniel-Always loved it, one of my favorite early Elton John numbers.
Kodachrome-Like the song, but was never crazy about the ending.
Pillow Talk-HOT!
Give Me Love-I always thought this song had a strange flow, like the lyrics didn't fit the music structure. but it's still good.
Will It Go Round In Circles-OK, but I like "Outa Space" better.
I'm Gonna Love You Just a Little More Baby-All of Bary White's songs sound the same to me, a lot of moaning and groaning and "oh, baby"s. But he sold a lot of records.
Playground-Only song on this list I downright hate!
My Love-Not my favorite Wings tune, but it was a turnaround in Paul's fortunes in the early 70's. This was kind of like the "Calm before the storm", considering he was about to do his best solo work over the next year!

I've always liked 'Right Place Wrong Time', and agree that it should get more airplay than it does. I do hear 'Will It Go Round in Circles' occasionally, but not too often. 'Long Train Runnin'' has been a favorite of mine for many years. One of their best early tracks!

I was wondering about Dr. John myself. It seems like I read somewhere that he had released another album not long ago, but I may be wrong about that. 'Right Place Wrong Time' is a great song - I always thought there should have been a follow-up single. I completely agree with you about Billy Preston. He's an outstanding keyboardist - his organ solo on 'Get Back' was terrific!

I found a copy of Dark Horse a few months ago. That's a very interesting book!

I've never heard any other songs by him, but I think he did an excellent job with 'Right Place, Wrong Time'. 'Will It Go Round in Circles' is a really good song, but my favorites of his are the instrumentals, especially 'Space Race'. Love that one!

Technically, I was around (less than 4 months from being born).
10) I liked this song, and like everyone else, wonder what happened to Dr. John. 9) This one is ok, but way overplayed on the classic rock stations around here. 8) Not a fan of Elton at all. Sorry. 7) It's an odd song, but very enjoyable. Most of my dad's photographer friends, though, said that Cannon cameras were far superior to Nikon, but Kodachrome was definately the film of choice. 6) Not familiar with this song. 5) One of my favorites. It has a little religious undertone, but George didn't do much that I didn't like. 4) I like this song, but I've never heard it by Billy. I always heard it by a female folk singer whose name escapes me right this second. 3) Not familiar with this one, but probably a lot of "Oh Baby's" in it and a lot of strings in the background. 2) I've heard of it, but don't really know it. 1) Great song. Love Paul and Wings!

I found a copy of Dark Horse a few months ago. That's a very interesting book! K-tel - Yeah they are - there's the odd tune that they made bad edits of like Smoke on the Water and This Flight Tonight - but they bring back great 70's memories and you got alot of songs for little money! George Harrison - That's the one! - Dark Horse - I found a copy at the library.
