The title is familiar but I'll have to go and have a listen to it. Hi Adam -I had a listen to it, even though the title is familiar I've never heard it before.

Hi Dawn 10. I had a listen to this - and I don't remember it . I've always thought of them as one hit wonders . Always liked Boogie Nights. 9.I remember hearing this one - I might even have this on a K-tel compilation - I'll have to look:) 8.Just love this - we had the 45 in the house , a great track!! 7.Love Bob - my brother had the 8-track 6.Good tune 5. I always forget this one - but I do like it , nice harmonies 4. I like the feel of this song - one of their best. 3.Another 45 we had in the house always liked it 2. The Saxaphone just fits in so perfectly - great pop. 1.A friend's sister had the album back in '78. So sad he left us so young. Hi Ken! I don't think 'The Groove Line' got quite as much airplay as 'Boogie Nights' did, at least not in my area. I've always loved both of those songs! I think I have a couple of K-tel compilations with 'Dance With Me' - one I know for certain is Disco Fire! There are some really good songs on Andy's Shadow Dancing album. I agree, it's very sad that he passed away at such a young age. Even after all these years, it still seems hard to believe sometimes.

WOW! What a great list! Of course, I grew up hearing my older sister's 45s, and off this list, she had all but 7, 6, and 3! Of course, I did hear those 3 songs on the radio a lot. That was a great summer for pop music! I agree, Pete - there were many wonderful songs released during that summer! I wish music was as good today as it was back then.

Ah, Andy Gibb. What a cutie he was! I absolutely agree with you, Lora! I had a big crush on him years ago!

Great list!
The Groove Line--Always a good party tune. Like this one a lot.
Dance With Me--Another fine song for parties. One of my favorites of all time.
Love is Like Oxygen--I think I was in 9th grade in '78. The English teacher gave an assiginment--find a song with a simile in the title. (Remember similes? LOL). I brought in this 45. I still remember that after all these years.
Still the Same--Love Bob Seger, but this isn't one of my favorites by him.
You Belong to Me--See Seger comment above. ;D
Use Ta Be My Girl--Very pleasant O'Jay memories of my youth. Good song!
Take a Chance on Me--One of my favorite Abba tunes.
It's a Heartache--Always liked Bonnie Tyler. This is a good one from her.
Baker Street--Love the lyrics to this one. Great sax solo, too!
Shadow Dancing--For some reason, I can't remember how this goes. I was never into Andy Gibb much. Maybe that's why.

When I was younger, I liked to do a dance similar to "The Hustle" whenever I listened to 'The Groove Line'. I've always loved that song! 'Love is Like Oxygen' was a great choice for that English assignment! Oh, yes, I remember similies well! LOL! Here's a link to a clip of 'Shadow Dancing' : www.mymusic.com/product.asp?curr=0&myptr=addany&muzenbr=105227. I very seldom hear this (or any of his other songs) on the radio these days for some reason.

That was a good year for me, but my husband will tell you it wasn't because his loser brother was born that year, and all his misery started then.
10) It sounds familiar, but I can't place it. 9) Is this the kind of slow, folky sounding song, sounds vaguely reminicent to that Love Unlimited Orchestra song? 8) This is a good one, but it's kind of repetitious. 7) I'm really not a Bob Seger fan, but I do like this song. 6) Not my favorite Carly Simon song. 5) Anytime I want to annoy my best friend, I just sing this song - I love this one! 4) Love ABBA - this one is no exception. 3) Like this one. She's got an interesting voice. 2) This is a great song that always reminds me of summer. 1) I liked Andy Gibb ok, though I preferred his brothers, but didn't really like this song.

No, this 'Dance With Me' is very disco-ish. You might be thinking of Orleans' 'Dance With Me', which came out in 1975. Here's the link to a clip of it: www.mymusic.com/product.asp?curr=0&myptr=addany&muzenbr=472758. LOL about annoying your best friend! ;D

Hi Dawn -
Best songs here are Still the Same & Baker Street with their great sax solos in them. Two absolute classics
Use to be My Girl - One of my favorites by the O'Jays
It's a Heartache - Good song
Love is Like Oxygen, You Belong to Me, & Take a Chance on Me are good songs, but Sweet, Carly, & Abba did much better songs.
Groove Line, Dance With Me, & Shadow Dancing I didn't like at all.

They have a timeless quality that will still sound great 50 years from now.
