At a time I was changing colleges--"for the worse", so to speak. Yes, I dropped out of an Ohio college/university, and went to a local community college. Oh well, still actively listening to top 40 radio.
10. Powerful drug message tune. I still like it today.
9. Not one of my faves of her--STILL have yet to hear the Spanish version!
8. Man, was "New Jersey" milked for hits; this was all right.
7. ALWAYS loved this! Great, peppy dance stuff!
6. One of Paula' better ones
5. Fine remake; much better than earlier "Rock me"
4. Cool tune, still great to hear today
3. Still in the top 10? Hmmm.... That was 1989 for ya...
2. I did love Ghostbusters 2 and this song "Too hot to handle..."
1. Of course. Make it stop!!!

Yikes! not much that I really like today - I thought Once Bitten Twice Shy was quite good - I also have Ian Hunter's original version on a compilation disc.
Gloria Estefan and Bon Jovi They were pretty good but that's about it.

Yes, I have memories of these songs-and they're all bad! LMAO!!!
Ok, Once Bitten is great, and I'll give honorable mention to So Alive.
Other than that.....YEESH! Is it any wonder grunge was born??

I would have been at band camp going into my jr year, which was probably my best one in terms of having fun. Not a whole lot here I like - must have been an off week. 10) No thanks. Got way tired of it. 9) Definately no thanks. 8) Pass. 7) Ew. 6) I used to think she was saying "Cold hearted slave". 5) Yuk. 4) This is about the only one I liked. 3) I once liked this one before I knew better. 2) I didn't like Ghostbusters II or this song. 1) I really don't like him. Woah - an 80's group I don't like.

Hi Dawn - Ouch, another late 80s chart.
Only know three songs here, but they're good ones.
Lay Your Hands on Me, Once Bitten Twice Shy, & Batdance.
The rest, don't like or don't know.

Toy Soldiers--Haven't heard this in a long time. I always liked it though. Don't Wanna Lose You--Can't really remember this one. I'm sure I'd know it if I heard it. Lay Your Hands On Me--Good one from them. I Like It--Hmm...not ringing any bells. Where WAS I in 1989? LOL! Cold Hearted--Not a bad song, considering it's Paula Abdul. ;D Once Bitten--Great tune! So Alive--Always liked this one. Doesn't get too much airplay around here. Wish it would. Batdance--No thanks. On Our Own--It's ok. Nothing I'd seek out anywhere, though. Right Here Waiting--Richard Marx is a "guilty pleasure" of mine. I like him, and I like his music. So sue me.

I'm a community college graduate also! You can get a really good education there, and it's a lot less expensive. I picked up a copy of the New Jersey CD at a yard sale about a month ago. Some very good songs on it, but I think I still prefer Slippery When Wet. 'Cold Hearted' is nice and upbeat, and I agree, one of Paula's better ones.

I've grown to like Great White more and more over the years, and although 'Rock Me' is my favorite, 'Once Bitten Twice Shy' is good also.

LOL! Admittedly, this was not a great time for music. I agree, 'So Alive' and 'Once Bitten Twice Shy' are both good songs. That's a good point about grunge - although I wasn't really into a lot of it at the time, I'll take it any day over stuff like 'Batdance'.

I'm with you about these late 80's charts - definitely not the greatest. I'm not fond of 'Batdance', but I do like the other two songs you mentioned.

I'm with you about 'So Alive' getting more airplay. I almost never hear it on the radio here either. I think the only time I do hear it is on Nina Blackwood's syndicated "Absolutely 80's" show on Saturday evenings.

Hey Dawn.! I owe you four posts. Bad year to start on. 1989? I thought they had abolished music that year! ;D Actually there are a couple of good ones on the list, a couple of bad ones, and a bunch I never heard of. Toy Soldiers - Don't know it. Don't Wanna Lose You - Probably have heard it, but can;t place it. Lay Your Hands On Me - I like most of Jon's music. This one is pretty good. I Like It - Never heard of it. (Who is backing up Dino? Pebbles and Bam-Bam? ) Cold Hearted - Not bad. Once Bitten - Had never heard of Great White until (unfortunately) earlier this year. So Alive - Don't know it. Batdance - Sounds like I don't want to know it. On Our Own - Ugh! No thank you! No! Bobby! Don't hit me!! ;D Right Here Waiting - Keep on Waiting, Richard.

The weird (scary?) thing is, right around the same time Dino was out there WAS a Pebbles!
