Agreed. That's the only song I really have any opinion of today... I’d have to agree with you all on that song. I like it a lot, but there are others I like more.

Hey Dawn 10. I thought his vocals were very..... different LOL I have warmed up to it somewhat over the years. 9.I'm aware of his version but have never heard it. 8. I like it! 7.This has always been a big fave even if it has been overplayed .I have his best of on vinyl. 6. I thought it was pretty good , I remember my Aunt had the tune on a 60's compilation cassette that I use to listen to when we would go and visit . 5. I remember singing this around the house when I was very little I loved it ! 4. To me one of their best 3.A very nice tune I heard for the first time in the early 80's. 2.Have been a big Spoonful fgan for a very long time one of the ultimate summer songs. 1.Added this to the collection of 45's in the 80's always loved Donovan. Hi Ken! LOL about ‘Summertime’! I like the song quite a bit, but agree that his vocals are definitely different! To this day I’m wondering how he made those “sputtering” effects! I remember singing ‘Yellow Submarine’ when I was little also! I really like Donovan’s music as well. I borrowed his greatest hits LP from a friend back in 1987, and really liked the songs. ‘Sunshine Superman’ is a great one from him.

Exactly one week before my time(hint, hint )! Summertime--Unique, to say the least. Blowin' In The Wind--Prefer Peter, Paul & Mary's version. Working In The Coal Mine--Decent tune. Land Of 1000 Dances--Prefer Cannibal & The Headhunters. Sunny--OK, if a bit overplayed. Yellow Submarine--Fun song; one of Ringo's best vocals. You Can't Hurry Love--Classic Motown. See You In September--I can take it or leave it. Summer In The City--Another fun, catchy number. Sunshine Superman-- Decent tune, but where the heck did that title come from? Hi Smitty! Another September birthday - that's great! Looks like both of us have birthdays coming up soon! ‘See You in September’ took quite a while to grow on me, I remember. It’s a good song, but there are one or two others of theirs that I like more. That is kind of a weird title, isn’t it? I’m not sure where it came from, but his songs always seemed to have interesting titles!

Hi Dawn - 10. Summertime - Ok 9. Blowin' in the Wind - Like Stevie, just don't like him doing this song. 8. Working in a Coal Mine - Good song, just overplayed. 7. Land of 1000 Dances - Wilson always did great songs. 6. Sunny - Kind of simple tune, good song, just not as good as this chart would indicate. 5. Yellow Submarine - Fun song and it's Ringo. 4. You Can't Hurry Love - Not their best. Phil Collins' version is better (imo) 3. See You in September - Not the best version of this song. 2. Summer in the City - The best summer song ever. 1. Sunshine Superman - Donovan did much better. Hi dodger! ‘Working in a Coalmine’ is definitely overplayed. I was actually surprised to see it on this chart – for some reason, I always thought it was older than that. I agree, ‘Sunny’ is kind of a simple song, musically and lyrically. I’ve always loved it, though.

The year my mom graduated from high school. At this point she and dad would be dating.
10) If this is the song I think it is (from Porgy & Bess), then THE ONLY version I like is by my great-great aunt Sophie Tucker. It was her signature song. 9) Love it, but gotta be Dylan 8) Eh. Got tired of it. 7) Love it. Used to play it in band. 6) It's ok. 5) Love it! 4) Good song. 3) Eh - this isn't the original artist, I don't think. 2) Good song. Have the album. 1) Love Donovan.

Yes, I think 'Summertime' is from Porgy & Bess, although Billy Stewart's version was a lot different from the original. 'Land of 1000 Dances' is a great choice for band, with all the brass instruments. It must have sounded really nice!
