I can't quite recall where I first heard this - Ron may have played this on Crap From The Past. I do know that I didn't hear it when it was current.This was Jay's follow up single to Thunder Island, I always thought it was from the same album - but that's incorrect.

Shakedown Cruise was included on the album Real Life Ain't This Way - the song reached #31 on Billboard's Top 40 chart in 1979.

I like the song very much and included it on a mix CD quite awhile back.

This is a great song, Ken! Like you, I don't remember hearing it when it was current, although Thunder Island got quite a bit of play when it was released. I think I first heard Shakedown Cruise in the mid '90s, when I bought a Ronco compilation (Super-Sonic?) that contained the song.
