Who remembers these now-obscure top 40 hits from 1981?

Nicole - Point Blank (Billboard #39)
Though this Texas band released multiple albums throughout the '70s and '80s, they only managed one entry in the Billboard top 40. This song has a strong southern-rock/blues sound in the vein of Atlanta Rhythm Section's harder material. Here's a clip:

From late 1976 through '78, Leo was a constant presence on the charts, but his success in the '80s was much more modest, managing only two top 40s, of which this was the final and less popular of the two. Fool in Love With You - Jim Photoglo (Billboard #25)
Like Michael McDonald and David Pack, Jim was one of the California-based singer/songwriters of the late '70s and early '80s who recorded jazz-influenced, melodic pop that came to be known as Westcoast/AOR. I've heard the Leo Sayer song maybe twice on "lite" stations since '81, but I don't think I've heard the other two songs on the radio since the time they were on the charts. I had forgotten what Nicole sounded like until I ran across an mp3 of it a few years ago.

I don't remember the Nicole track at all. It may not have gotten any airplay here in Atlanta.

This did get lots of airplay in spring of '81 here. I didn't like it as much as More Than Words Can Say. It was surprising that he never returned to the Top 40 after this.
