One again, let's look at a couple of songs that time and radio stations have forgotten. I think when I did this feature originally, I only went back to 1977 or 1978, but let's look at some slightly older forgotten hits this time.
Part of the Plan - Dan Fogelberg (Billboard #31)
Dan is probably best remembered for Same Old Lang Syne and some of his other soft-rock hits of the early '80s, but he had charted previously with this debut hit, which is more country-rock flavored than his usual fare. Baby That's Backtacha - Smokey Robinson (Billboard #26)
By the time of this hit, Smokey and the Miracles had parted ways and were beginning to establish themselves as separate artists. This was Smokey's second top 40, a cool yet dynamic number with some very nice flute work throughout. Just Too Many People - Melissa Manchester (Billboard #30)
After having much success with the ballad Midnight Blue a few months prior, Melissa followed it up with this more uptempo number. Unfortunately, it never caught on as well as Midnight Blue did.
