Cool song! I've tried to sing along with the lyrics, but can never quite manage to get through the song without getting tongue-tied. I've often wondered how the lead singer did it so well - possibly the vocal track was sped up slightly before being mixed?

That's how I've always assumed it was done--kind of the way they speed up all those legal disclaimers we hear on the radio. Calling America--ELO(1985)

That's a great video, Woody, and the song itself is kind of a theme song for The Music Click.

That's a great video, Woody, and the song itself is kind of a theme song for The Music Click. While watching the video Ed, I kept thinking that musically, this is what it's all about. It hit everything, the songs, the groups, the albums, the labels. As for following along with the lyrics, I cheated. I found the lyrics, & followed along on that website, while the video played in a different window. Yeah and who can follow the disclaimers, I can't.

Here's a cool song. Amidst all my Clapton, Stones, Zep, & ZZ Top, this is my favorite bubblegum song. It's not much of a video, but the song should bring back some cool memories, it did for me. i really love this song. And yes I have this on CD. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaySeWdCieI&feature=related

I've always loved it myself, especially that very classical style strings intro leading into the song

It reminds me of my senior year of high school. Cool video!

Here is some Canadian content (or as we call it ) CANCON. The Magic Cycle - This song was released around 1970. I found a copy of this 45 in the mid 80's. The band, not too long after this release, shortened their name to "The Cycle." Painter - "West Coast Woman" - released in 1973. I also have a copy of this 45.

Don't Call Us, We'll Call You--Sugarloaf Great choice, Smitty! I've always liked this song a lot, especially the "it sounds like John, Paul and George" line.

Tired of Toein' The Line--Rocky Burnette(1980) As a song, this is, IMO, a great one. In my top 500. It gets extra pouints for the connection with old time rock and roll, Rocky being the son of Johnny Burnette and the nephew of Dorsey Burnette. But y'know - I had never seen the video before - and I wish I STILL hadn't seen it.

I remember a radio-show segment where Rupert admitted the song had some basis in real life--he did find a pack of menthol cigarettes by the window, "I don't smoke menthols, and(former girlfriend)doesn't smoke."
