probably a deliberately suppressed classic... but I like it ;D Back in the fall/early winter of '68, my brother Mike and I shined shoes in the downtown Lorain bars...I was 12, he was 10. The jukeboxes were full of really cool songs that you don't hear anymore. Like this one...not the original cut, but this one has video of the group, Four Jacks and a Jill. www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0WvXpyufT8

I've always loved this one. Probably my fave by The Box Tops. I have the 45.

Sweet Cream Ladies was a good song, maybe not my favorite by the Box Tops. I really loved Master Jack. It was a cool back then, and still is.

A very good track. I have it on the CD compilation, The Ultimate Box Tops.

in the late 90s, i saw THE BOXTOPS in concert (all five original members, including leader ALEX CHILTON) and they did all their blue eyed soul classics. SWEET CREAM LADIES, THE LETTER, SOUL DEEP, I MET HER IN CHURCH, CHOO CHOO TRAIN, NEON RAINBOW, CRY LIKE A BABY, you name it...they played it!
THE KINGSMEN opened up, but their lineup was extremely "suspect".
