Although Rock Around the Clock is the rim shot heard round the world, I like Maybelline better.

Great topic, Dave.
IMO, every one of those songs is a classic (even the somewhat obscure Crazy Otto)
I had to go with Only You by the Platters. Love that song!
Are you (or anyone) familiar with the Platters' earlier version (1953) of Only You. I have it on a vinyl LP collection of various old R&B hits that I picked up sometime in the late 60s out of a discount bin. Its a much mellower version. Tony Williams hits all the high notes, but without much of the vocal gyrations he uses in the hit version.
