Don't hate me, but I really liked the Kim Wilde version of this song. I was attending college from 1983 to 1986, so I was really influenced by what was being played in the clubs.

I do like the Supremes version and give them full credit for being such a huge musical influence, but this is another song where I prefer a later version (the other one being Phil Collins' version of "You Can't Hurry Love")

Kim Wilde's version is ok - definately more dancable, but I prefer ye olde Motown version.

It's a tough choice between the Supremems and Vanilla Fudge. But I'll give it to the Supremes. Their version has more of the emotion you'd expect if someone were really in this situation, singing about it. Vanilla Fudge version, you could almost leave off the words and still groove to the 60s instrument jam.

I went to download all 3 versions since it's been a WHILE since I'd heard the Vanilla Fudge version and I had NEVER heard the Kim Wilde version.

Given the fact they were behind The Supremes, I guess my vote will be for that version.
