This is from a Rhino box set I picked up a few years ago. It's a four record set of some of the greatest party songs ever, so we'll start today with Record One, Side One.
This one's really tough. All great tunes, but I went with The Swingin' Medallions.

Had to go with the #1 party song from my generation. "Louie Louie."
BTW, jp, which version of "Double Shot" does your cd have? "She loved me so hard" or "She kissed me so hard"

"She loved me so hard" or "She kissed me so hard" I knew there was a "censored" version (since that first one is SO dirty ), but I didn't think they bothered pressing that version in the CD era!

Hey Ken! I don't know if one is rarer. It's just that loved me so hard sounded risque so they released a second version with kissed me so hard. The loved me version also says "worst hangover I ever had". In the kissed me version they tone it down to "worst morning after..." I guess no one is supposed to know about hangovers or being loved hard. Like I say, I don't know for sure, but I would guess that maybe for anything released "in the day" loved me would be rarer, but probably for anything re-released on a cd recently it would probably all be "loved me". - people aren't quite so touchy about those things today. ;D Anyway, I own one of each.

As if "loved me so long" being censored wasn't pathetic enough, I read in a book that they also changed "worst hangover that I ever had" to "worst morning after that I ever had." What was with people back then??
