Okay, I'm a day earlier than I said I would be. That's okay though.
After my comment about being bored with the Beatles a week or two ago, I decided it would be a good idea to cover this movie right here to sort of appease everyone that I pissed off the other day.
A Hard Day's Night (1964)
Directed By: Richard Lester Screenplay By: Alun Owen Produced By: Dennis O'Dell, Walter Shenson, David V. Picker Original Music By: George Harrison, John Lennon, George Martin, Paul McCartney (Hmm...where's Ringo, I wonder?" Cinematography By: Gilbert Taylor
Starring: John...John Lennon Paul...Paul McCartney George...George Harrison Ringo...Ringo Starr Paul's grandfather...Wilfrid Brambell Millie...Anna Quayle Norm...Norman Rossington
Synopsis, from IMDb: An exaggerated "Day In the Life" of the Beatlemania era Beatles. The foursome travel from train to hotel to television studio with their road crew, while "Grandfather" stirs up trouble, and even temporarily convinces one member to leave his responsibilities to go off "paradin'."
My Comments: I haven't seen this, and despite there not being much of a plot to the movie, I imagine it's all in good fun and not complete torture to watch. In fact, I might actually enjoy it a little... ;D

One of my favorite movies, and IMO, the best of all the Beatles movies. It's very well-paced, with interesting scenes throughout, and the comedy is sharp and witty. All the Beatles do a great job in their roles, especially Ringo, but the funniest character by far is Paul's grandfather! Some of the best scenes feature him as the central character.

I couldn't agree more with Dawn's comments I've lost count how many times I've watched the movie over the years. It's a classic . I first saw it in the early 80's on a bootleg video and now have two copies on VHS and the DVD . Richard Lester did a phenomenal job and took the "typical" Rock and Roll movie too new heights. This movie is a must see for all rock and roll music fans.

Bored with The Beatles? You're so silly. Lora! Excellent movie choice! I agree, it's one of the best Beatles movies, but "Help" is my personal favorite. One of my favorite parts of the movie is when John pretends to "snort" the contents of a Coca-Cola bottle and saying "Control yourself, you'll spurt!"

Would you believe I have never sat down and watched this all the way through?? Oh, I've seen the whole thing, but in parts, never at once.
I actually got the DVD a year ago, for my birthday and STILL haven't watched it! LOL!
But of course it's a legendary movie, helped Beatlemania along quite well. And of course was the inspiration for the Monkees.
As far as Ringo....well, he didn't write any of the music on this album/movie!
But then again, neither did George!

I only saw the movie once. That was back in the day, but I saw it at a drive-in, and my main concern wasn't the movie. ;D So all I really remember was a lot of running around and chasing, etc. (In the MOVIE, in the MOVIE)
Like JP, however, I love the soundtrack.
