Yep! By looking at your titles, you can SURE tell when they were popular! LOL! I had some originals and some reissues- Voices of Babylon The Outfield Life is a Highway Tom Cochran After Midnight/Let it Rain Eric Clapton (Reissue) Layla/Bell Bottom Blues Derek & the Dominoes (Reissue) I Can't Explain Scorpions I'm in The Kinleys Ones I got rid of when I upgraded to CD- I Won't Back Down/The Apartment Song Tom Petty Ordinary Average Guy/Alphabetical Order Joe Walsh Love Shack B-52's Hell, I may have gotten rid of the Scorpions too. I won't get rid of the Kinleys though-the picture is too good. I have more, but my memory fails me.

Hi Ken! Yes, I've got a few of those. Most of them I picked up secondhand, but there were two I remember buying new - Garbage's 'Stupid Girl' and Joey Lawrence's 'Nothin' My Love Can't Fix'. Neither of those songs is much like the music I usually listen to, but I must admit that Joey Lawrence's song is a guilty pleasure for me!

Yep! I bought 'em pretty much on a regular basis. I remember when Target occasionally used to have them for like, 49ยข. That's when I really stocked up on them. I've actually kept most of them, although I did get rid of some of the lesser known ones. I probably still have about 100 or so.

I didn't, for the most part, because I didn't like most of the music that was popular when cassingles came out. I also knew a guy who serviced jukeboxes, so he was able to get stuff on 45 long after the stores stopped carrying them. Stuff like "Walk On The Ocean" by Toad The Wet Sprocket and "Life Is A Highway" by Tom Cochrane I had on 45.
Once in a while, though, I would buy a cassingle by an alternative artist if I didn't want to buy the whole CD. "Been Caught Stealing" by Janes Addiction, "Another Minute" by Cause and Effect and "Bright Yellow Gun" by Throwing Muses come to mind.

I never bought any....
1. They took up as much space as a regular tape...
2. My kind of music wasn't on them... at least not locally. In looking back, anything I would have wanted would have been an import. The shipping and handling would have been more than the cassette itself!

Dawn, Did you know that Joey is now on the TV Show American Dreams? He plays the producer of American Bandstand .

Yes! Do I have a LOT! Maybe at least 250!
I got my 1st one in July '89 "I won't back down/The apartment song", and they kept on coming till June 2000, when my last one was "Back here" by BBMak, and I did end up getting the whole album on CD. I don't plan to sell any of mine at this time, for they have lots of memories! Some of my other cassingles include: Straight up/Cold hearted-Paula Abdul Just a friend-Biz Markie Vogue-Madonna Touch me all night long-Cathy Dennis C'mon and ride it (The train)-Quad City DJ's Change the world-Eric Clapton Where do you go-No Mercy (I must have every other chart hit from 1996-1998 on cassingle, BTW!) Wannabe-Spice Girls (and their next 6 hits after that) Can't nobody hold me down-Puff Daddy/Mase How do I live-LeAnn Rimes Are you Jimmy Ray-Jimmy Ray The boy is mine-Brandy/Monica I don't wanna miss a thing-Aerosmith (got it at a Wal-Mart 2nd day of release; it was all sold out within 2 weeks everywhere) Written in the stars-Elton John & LeAnn Rimes Many others... I kept getting new CD singles until April 2001. I still ocassionally buy older CD singles off the net.

I had no idea that Bruce's Santa Claus is Coming To Town was released on cassette single - wow! I have it on both 12" single and 45.

i bought a handful of cassette singles, such as MICHAEL MONROE's DEAD, JAIL, OR ROCK & ROLL and SOUL SISTER's THE WAY TO YOUR HEART, two of my favorite semi-obscure tunes. i liked 45s better though.
in the early age of CDs, i also bought five 2 inch "mini-discs" from the RHINO label, with four songs each by the following acts:
JIMMY ROGERS THE RASPBERRIES BO DIDDLEY JAN & DEAN DENNIS YOST & THE CLASSICS IV
anyone else ever see those half sized CDs?...
