I go to thrift stores and garage sales a lot, always looking for used CD's, albums, videotapes, etc. This past Saturday, I was at one of the thrift stores looking thru the albums, when I stumbled upon 3 lp's, still factory sealed. Naturally, I snatched 'em up! It's not everyday that you can find albums (or much of anything else) never opened, at these kinds of stores. They are: The Honeydrippers--Volume 1. Astra--Asia Kilroy Was Here--Styx Ok--so it's not the Beatles or Elvis, but...I'm pleased with my purchases. ;D

Hey, not bad at all!! At least they are good albums/groups! Not like it's Lisa Lisa or something! LMAO!!
Can I ask what they cost each?
Also, which Asia album is that? The one with Don't Cry? Or the one with Go? Or neither? LOL

Good deal, huh? And I thought the cashier was gonna flip out when she saw the Styx album. She couldn't believe it had never been opened. After I bought it, I shoulda told her she could have it if she'd give me 10 bucks for it. LOL! The Asia album has the song "Go" on it. It's from 1985.

[glow=red,2,300]That's really cool...especially Styx. I just love shopping in thrift stores because you find some of the coolest things every now and then. I worked at one last summer and had a blast stocking the shelves.[/glow]

Way to go! I love to pick up used LPs at flea markets, and thrift shops. I find things I didn't know even existed sometimes! Don't find sealed albums very often though.

That's great, Kathy! I love 'Go' from Astra. I remember buying the cassette back in 1986 just for that song! You sound a lot like me - I'm always on the hunt for LPs, CDs and tapes at yard sales and thrift stores. It takes some looking, but there are some real gems to be found in those places!

I've been back to that store twice this past week, hoping to maybe find some more sealed LP's there. LOL! Unfortunately, I haven't had any luck. But I did find a sealed copy of "The Very Best of Elvis Costello and the Attractions" CD there the other day. I was happy about that, too! Good find on that sealed Ronco LP, btw!

At least they are good albums/groups! Not like it's Lisa Lisa or something! LMAO!! I love thrift shops. That's where I buy most of my board games. My best find: A sealed copy of Vallotte by Julian Lennon. And BTW, I LIKE LISA LISA (except for All Cried Out).

I love them! I don't have anything to play LP's on anymore, and I usually only buy "used" tapes if they are still sealed, but I love to buy used CD's--also toys and books for my son, and sometimes clothes and books for me, and whatever else I might find of interest. This past Wednesday, I found a bunch of kids' books for my son about trucks and construction. He loves them!

You're out of luck if you also want to play 78's.

Half Price Books here still has a section of LP's, but I admit to only looking through the "Bargain" section. The thrift stores here are quite high on music, so that's become my new favorite place to look for bargain music. On the topic of sealed LP's, I have found some in my thrift shopping. Off the top of my head, Nicolette Larson's Nicolette LP, Hall & Oates Live, Power Station and Barry Manilow's Even Now.
