you can also include cassettes and 8 tracks if you wish. I'm proud to say that I have almost everything! A few 45's I had didn't quite make it, either badly warped or worn out so I chucked them - a few even disappeared hmmm I wonder if my middle brother has them LOL . LP's were either upgraded to nicer copies or upgraded to CD. almost all of my cassettes have survived. I got rid of a quite a few 8 tracks when I moved because I just didn't have the room - but I still have my Beatles , Badfinger and KISS tapes:)

I still have pretty much all the 45s and LPs I had when I was a kid, including some children's albums I've had ever since I can remember. I wish they were in better condition, though. Hang on to those 8-tracks - they're very collectible! Which Beatles ones do you have?

Excellent topic Ken, and perfect for this board-livens it up! I have gotten rid of a few LPs, mostly doubles, but a couple others I just did not want. But overall, I don't get rid of vinyl LPs anymore. I remember when my sister gave me her copy of London Town by Wings. It was my first non-compilation LP. And I have no clue where it is now! I have MOST of my kiddies records. I have a cool Dr Suess 2 LP set, but I don't have the Elmer Fudd & Daffy Duck 45s I got the same year for my birthday! When Bekki's parents gave me all their old records, I kept all of Bekki's old kiddie records. I have been getting rid of 45s and tapes the past few years. At this point in most cases they are useless to me. Meaning most 45s have been replaced, and the 45 edits suck. And cassettes end up sounding like crap! There are exceptions, especially stuff that isn't available in any other form.

Fortunately or Unfortunately, depending on your point of view, I haven't gotten rid of any of my cassettes or vinyl. I'm sort of a pack rat and really can't think of getting rid of any of them. Sentimental ol' me I guess.

I wish I still had the kiddie record's I had when I was little . I had Sesame Street and a few Walt Disney but I really wore them out . Occasionally while looking for vinyl at my local swap meet I'll find one I had but there always for the most part in worst shape then the copies I had. I have however found a few Disney albums sealed which I bought and resold

I haven't come across very many Beatles 8-tracks at all over the years, especially with boxes and in nice condition. Are the 1962-66 and 1967-70 ones double sets?

You are right though , they aren't that easy to find - It's taken awhile to built this collection that I've got - but it's very cool when you see one you don't have

Cool Topic, Ken. It looks like we're all packrats - and I'm as big a rat as any, so to speak. I've collected over 5000 singles (45s) and while I've given away/sold a few doubles, I've kept all the originals. The only things I had as a kid that I no longer have are some 78s that broke along the way. That's my worst childhood musical memory; sometimes I or my mom or dad would accidently drop a record and it would break. Then we didn't have it any more. I remember this as being extremely traumtic.
