Ken's Pic of the Day inspired this. Do you have any valuable or at least cool 45 sleeves? I say "cool" because I know I have A LOT of sleeves, and I probably have about 1/5 of that of people like Ken, H2, Dawn, Kathy, etc. The ones that stand out to me are the Monkees (again, inspired by Ken's post). At a record show I bought the sleeves to Last Train to Clarksville/Take a Giant Step and Pleasant Valley Sunday/Words. Last Train is obviously a clip from the show, and PVS is an outtake from the Headquarters cover. I display both in my basement, with Take a Giant Step side up, since I prefer it. I prefer PVS, but I display the Words side up, otherwise it looks like "Pleasant Valley Sunday Words"! LOL! I also have the REISSUE cover to Daydream Believer, which some of you may remember has a psychedelic clip from the "video" for the song. I also picked up the 45 sleeve for Ballad of John and Yoko/Old Brown Shoe. Two drawbacks-each side is different pics, and YOKO is in both of them!! So what do you all have?

I'd guess I have a couple hundred or maybe more. I never went after the sleeves on their own, but when you have 5000 or so 45s, you get a few sleeves. Even when I'd be at a flea market, if I bought some used 45s, I tried to buy the ones that had the picture sleeve with it. Sometimes you'd have to be careful. With used records, often the picture sleeve did not contain the record that it advertised. You'd always have to look inside. I have the John and Yoko sleeve also. LOL about Yoko on both sides. I have a few early Elvis sleeves, but I couldn't tell you which ones. I think I have Too Much and Love Me Tender. I used to have All Shook Up, but someone stole it when I had it at a party when I was about 14. I have Roy's Crying/Candy Man and Working For The Man/Leah. I have Lesley Gore's It's My Party and Judy's Turn To Cry I have I Get Around/Don't Worry Baby Many more, but can't think of them now. I'll look when I'm home.

My most interesting picture sleeve is probably Help!/I'm Down. It's a reissue 45, printed in the late 80s, but the design is exactly like the original.
I think I've mentioned this before in posts, but the picture sleeve to the Brothers Johnson's Strawberry Letter 23 45 was really cool. It had a picture of an envelope on the front, and the envelope was scented like strawberries! I wish I still had that sleeve, but it came up missing quite a few years ago.

Hey Adam:) That's great I inspired this post - I'm honoured A few of my pic sleeves - No Matter What - Badfinger - It's from Germany and includes a close - up pic of the girl that appears on the No Dice LP cover - it's on both sides. Catch Us If You Can - Dave Clark Five - This has the LP cover pic on both sides. Be Bop - A - Lula -John Lennon - Not really a picture sleeve but more of an insert - the record comes in a green sleeve. The pic has John lying on a floor and the back has the lyrics in both English and Japanese. Baby You're a Rich Man - Beatles - has the pic from the inside of the Sgt Pepper cover on both sides. Have You Seen You Mother Baby - Rolling Stones - The pic is a group shot that was taken with a "fish eye" lens- it's very cool looking.

Wow, I didn't think picture sleeves were that common in the early years! I knew Elvis, Beach Boys, Beatles, etc had them, but the Lesley Gore and Roy have to be cool!

I have several of Fats Domino's from the mid-fifties--"I'm Walkin'" and "Blue Monday"...
Another one of some worth is the Rolling Stones' "Time is On My Side"...and of course the DeFranco Family with "Heartbeat-It's a Lovebeat"...
I have a TON of generic paper sleeves, which I've held onto over the years...Philles, Invictus, Colossus, King/Federal, ABC-Paramount, Fontana, Chancellor, Bell/Amy, Coral, Parrot, UNI, and my favorite, an Atlantic sleeve boasting Joe Turner...
