Here's a trivia question based on something that maybe some of you know, but I just learned:
Barry Manilow's mega-hit "I Write The Songs" was not written by him. I won't say who wrote the lyrics, because that would likely give it away. The lyric "I've been alive forever, and I wrote the very first song" - the lyricist was not referring to himself with "I" - who was he referring to?

It's not an interpretation, it's a quote from the song...
Well, if it isn't Music and not Bruce the songwriter... who would Bruce be a big clue to?
Must be Brian Wilson.
(though I don't believe he wrote the very first song...) ;D

Bruce Johnston was the songwriter, and he was referring - so it says in the fine print - to Brian Wilson. And you are right, MC, Brian Wilson did not write the very first song. I believe he may have written the third or fourth, though. ;D

Perhaps I shoulda stayed around. Anyway, I'll try to make it for a few posts.
The first song was the Beatles' "Here Comes the Sun", written about 10 billion years ago..
