Eric Carmen Meets John Lennon - 1974
At the time both were working at The Record Plant Studios.
The Raspberries were recording Overnight Sensation for their Starting Over album and John was helping Harry Nilsson producing his Pussycats LP.
Eric recalls that his first encounter with Lennon was knocking him down with the bathroom door in the studio's facilities - Ouch!.
Well the official meeting of the two happened at a luncheon that was given for Rick Sklar a promotional man at Capitol Records. Eric was to meet Lennon after it was done so he had a speech prepared.
When the time came they were formally introduced , Eric put his hand out and to give his speech and Lennon said "Love your record Overnight Sensation" " me and Ringo have been promoting it!"
Eric said he was speechless - John was the nicest guy you ever wanted to meet.

Nifty story! So did John remember knocking Eric down with the door later on? Hey Lora Actually it was Eric who knocked John down I've always wondered about that myself but the interview that I got the story from didn't say.
