At 6:35 AM Elvis, accompanied by his girlfriend, Dixie and his parents, reports to the draft board, where he joins twelve other recruits on a bus to Kennedy Veterans Memorial Hospital. Elvis is assigned serial number 53 310 761, and after his physical he is put in charge of the group, which will be taking an army bus to Fort Chaffee, Arkansas.
