Well, I wasn't able to do this for awhile, but yesterday's was interesing, so here goes.
1956
At a performance in Lincoln, Nebraska, Elvis wears a yellow sports coat with black stripes, a blue iridescent shirt with a kimono collar, and black pegged trousers. Asked if rock-n-roll is a bad influence on teenagers, Elvis tells the reporter, "I don't even smoke or drink, and I started singing as a gospel singer and come from a Christian home."

I'm trying to figure out why a complete description of his outfit was included. Also, "I don't drink and I don't smoke." Right...

He didn't do those things. It was all pills, and that was later on. I thought he drank. Not to say he was a drunk, just that he drank occassionally. Hmm...I guess I just learned something. |

But I figured he did drink at some point. To me, the only way you can say, "I don't drink," is if you have NEVER had any alcohol ever. Of course, some drunks say "I don't drink" too. If I ever have any problems with addiction in the future, that's what mine will be: pills and food. Well, I take it back. Just pills. I'm already there with the food. |
