September 24, 1969 - Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid, starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford, opened in theaters across the country. The movie spawned a number one hit record for B.J. Thomas, "Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head", written by Burt Bacharach especially for B.J. Bacharach had Thomas in mind for the song ever since he heard him singing "Hooked On A Feeling" earlier in the year.
