03/20/1968 Eric Clapton and Buffalo Springfield members were arrested at a private residence in Los Angeles and charged with 'being in a place where it is suspected marijuana is being used'.
03/20/1969 John Lennon and Yoko Ono were married on this day.
03/20/1970 Davie Bowie and girlfriend Mary Angela Barnett were married on this day.
03/20/1971 Topped the charts in 1971 with her hit 'Me and Bobby McGee'. It stayed there for two weeks.
03/20/1971 Marc Bolan and T Rex topped the UK singles charts for the first of four times with 'Hot Love', where it remained for six weeks.
03/20/1982 Joan Jett & the Blackhearts topped the charts with their song 'I Love Rock & Roll', and it stayed there for seven weeks.
I've read about the incident with EC and Buffalo Springfield several times. Geez, if you can be arrested for being in a place where it was being used, I would've been in jail every weekend between 94-99!

That incident with Eric Clapton and Buffalo Springfield does seem a little excessive and silly. With all that was going on in L.A. at the time, you'd think the police would have had better things to do. I wonder if the case ever went to trial, or were the charges dropped?
I vividly remember when I Love Rock and Roll was current on the charts. I was in the eighth grade, and just about everyone I knew loved the song. Hard to believe it's been 25 years!

I recall reading about the Clapton / Springfield incident. I totally agree about it being a bit much.
I remember seeing the video of I Love Rock & Roll several times back then . as well as it being in heavy rotation on the radio - great stuff. 25 years ago - wow!!! how can that be?
Hot Love - classic Marc Bolan!
