Man, guess my post magically disappeared...Well not so! I had it on the Albums board LOL! All right...
The Fantastic Johnny C, born Johnny Corley in South Carolina in 1943, had 3 chart hits in 1967/68:
Boogaloo down broadway (A year-old recording when it peaked at #7 in late 1967--apparently this was heard on American Bandstand in November 1966!)

Not too familiar with the latter 2, but I never hear "Boogaloo" enough on the radio. I taped it years ago, and it's great listening to it today!
Too bad this man isn't as remembered as James Brown or Otis Redding...
