I was just websurfing over at ML, and found a link to a radio station that plays oldies that I call oldies. The station is WRLL AM 1690 in - hey Adam - Chicago., and is streamed online at www.realoldies1690.com/main.htmlThey play '50s and early '60s Right now, their playing Bill Black's Smokey Part 2. They just played The Magic Touch by the Platters and Detroit City by Bobby Bare There's no station like this in DC - or else I'd be listening to it!

They play up to before the British Invasion. It's the one I was talking about that is tailor made for my uncle who doesn't consider Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, etc oldies.

I must have been asleep, or maybe you didn't say anything about it streaming on line, so I might have thought "That's nice, but I'll never hear it." Anyway, I am really happy to be listening now. - They just started playing Wild One by Bobby Rydell. Even their station breaks are in the '50s-'60s mode.

You know what, I was thinking about it, and there was no whole post made about it, so I just musta mentioned it in response on an INSANE list or something. So sorry about that! Also, when I said "That's the station I was talking about!!" was said in excitement, not anger or frustration! LOL! And I didn't know about it being online! LOL!

And I didn't know about it being online! LOL! Yep. Now they're playing Long Lonely Nights by Lee Andrews and the Hearts - The ONLY times I've heard that in the past 40 years is when I play my own 45. So I'll have this on in the background for a while - at least until I find that they may play 50s and early 60s, - but the same 25 songs over and over. Whoo hoo - The ORIGINAL Roll Over Beethoven!

No, they don't repeat too much. The DJ's on there are Chicago legends too-Larry Lujack & Tommy Edwards, Len O'Kelly. It really is cool. Except they have an Elvis hour on Sundays but give Sinatra TWO hours.

So do you listen to it also, or did you just hear it from your uncle? Actually, I don't really. I flipped it on a couple times when I first found out about it. Actually, my home system has digital tuning and doesn't go up to 1690 on AM! So one Saturday when my uncle was over working in the basement, we listened to it on his shitty boombox.
