One of our biggest classic rock stations has recently introduced a new Friday night segment called "New Classics".On this program they introduce new music by classic rock artists like the Eagles.I heard a new song by Peter Frampton, forgot the title, and it was really odd sounding.Anyway, this is quite a great concept.Has this happened around your neck of the woods?

Now that's a cool idea! Good way for the old artist's new stuff to get heard, without it getting lost, sandwhiched between old tunes. People who want to hear the new stuff will listen specifically to that show!
We never had anything that specific at our stations, but our old classic rock station did something similar. They would have a sound bite before a song that says, "It doesn't have to be old to be a classic" and then they'd go into (Then current) tunes by Petty, Henley, etc.

I enjoy the heck out of it.It's interesting to compare their old music and see how much their sound has changed,or mellowed, with age.

That sounds excellent ! My classic rock station does from time to time play new material from "classic" artists. I wish they would do it alot more though to give the new material a chance to be heard.
