Just when things were looking up.......

I found out today that I will NOT be hired for that great job after all! Even after being welcomed aboard by the president of the company. It appears that the new guy who just took over supervising our department has decided that they "cannot afford" to add the position (shouldn't this have already been determined before I was told I was hired on a handshake deal?)

I'm a little hurt, and very angry, but I'm taking it in stride. Things with Dani have been going much better, and I can't risk losing her again by getting all depressed over this. Something else will come along, even if it is another Temp job (GRRR....).

The ironic thing is, I went to talk to a psychic this past weekend, to get advice on how to make my relationship better. He told me that the relationship wasn't going to work out, but my new job was going to be great! That I'd be making $50k in less than a year, and I'd be travelling a lot. And the exact opposite happens. I find out I'm losing the job, and Dani and I have been getting much better. I guess even psychics can be wrong...

Still, back to the drawing board.... GOD, I hate job hunting!!!!

Damn, Pete! That really sucks about the job. There are just too many people out there who act irresponsibly when they are supposedly making job offers, contracte, whatever.

The good news is that you "sound" so much more upbeat. Attitude means a lot. I am really glad that things are getting better with Dani.

Oh, and it sounds that your psychic is never gonna have his own TV show.

Anyway, good luck with the job hunting. A good one WILL come.

I'm sorry to hear this, Pete, and I agree with you and Ed that they shouldn't have made the offer unless they were prepared to follow through. But I hope that another opportunity will come your way very soon, and am glad that things are going better with your and Dani's relationship.

Pete, I am sooo sorry to hear about the job. They definitely should not have offered it to you unless all their ducks were in a row.

I will keep my fingers crossed that something even better will show up for you soon. Hope your personal life also goes well, at least you are trying your best.
