Time to take a look at three more forgotten singles...this time, let's go back to 1982. Wake Up Little Susie - Simon and Garfunkel (Billboard #27) After years of acrimony, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel reunited for a much-anticipated and heralded concert in New York's Central Park in 1981. Among the songs in their set was a remake of the classic Everly Brothers hit, which was recorded at the performance and released as a single in spring 1982. It got quite a bit of play at the time it was current, but seemingly, none since. Here's a clip from Youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=s1NGH9OuJTMMake Believe - Toto (Billboard #30) Considering the huge success of Toto's album IV, this single should have enjoyed more longevity, but for some reason it seemed to disappear from top 40 radio almost as soon as it appeared. Good song, though - I've always liked it. It can be heard here on Youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aoae6o5Z99IBaby Makes Her Blue Jeans Talk - Dr. Hook (Billboard #25) This dance/rock track was a big departure in style from the novelty hit The Cover of the Rolling Stone, and their more mellow efforts of the mid-to-late '70s. It would be the group's tenth and final appearance on the Billboard Top 40. Here's the video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iYpboTjtoQ

Iremember their reunion. The other two, I've never heard before. They are both good songs. I especially like the Dr. Hook song. That's a candidate for your entry on the Aniversary Party Mix CD that I'll be compiling next week.

I remember all three "Make Believe" was the one that I heard the most, I remember including it on a mix tape I made of songs off the radio. Great tune. Paul and Art's cover of "Susie" is great - it was an excellent concert, I remember seeing it on TV. I only heard the Dr. Hook song a couple of times. This is the first time I've seen the video.
