JP, those are two amazing songs, & I love 'em both. But I have to vote for My Girl by the Temps. It's a song that will forever be on the "Soundtrack of My Life".
I was stationed in Greenland when my daughter was born. She was born on a Sunday, and plane schedules prevented me from returning to the US until the following Wednesday. When I got the Red Cross message announcing her birth, being a small base, word traveled very quickly. The first song ever played on the radio & dedicated to my daughter was My Girl. Fast forward 21 years later, when she & I had a very short discussion about a father/daughter dance at her wedding, she pretty much said it's a no-brainer, we danced to My Girl. To this day, the song remains a favorite for both of us.

Both are great classics, but I'll give the very slight edge to the Tops.

Tough call, because I love both!
I think I'll go with The Four Tops.
