Happy Canada Day, guys!
Canada is a great place; I've visited there several times and look forward to going again in the not-too-distant future.

Aside from the fact that I had to work today, it was a good one. Thanks. Ironically enough, I'm off July 4th.

Ken, Juggie, Viki, and other Click-Canadians, I hope you all are having a super Canada Day! I remember when it was Dominion Day I lived in Canada 1973-75 and celebrated two Canada Days. and we took a vacation in 1991 to Quebec City, and we were there for the Canada Day celebration. I remember we watched the fireworks from (I believe) Parc des Champs-de-Bataille. Three days later we were in Maine, and saw the 4th of July celebration in Bar Harbor. Two countries, two fireworks celebrations within 4 days.

Mark and I managed to get it backwards one year when we were on vacation - we were in Ohio for Canada Day, and in Ontario, Canada for the 4th! I think we still managed to catch some fireworks that evening, though.

Well, I guess the good news was, everything must have been open since there was no holiday on the 1st in Ohio or on the 4th in Ontario. The year we were in Quebec City, Andrew was 12. We had dinner at a nice little cafe, and ordered a bottle of wine. The waiter brought out three glasses, and proceeded to pour a glass of wine for all three of us. You should have seen Andrew's eyes open real wide!

Thats part of the charm of Quebec City. We have a lot of those here in Montreal too. As for the wine, well lol, I know the french drink wine, and that in Europe, they don't think its bad for a kid to have maybe 1 glass (depending on their age of course. Legal drinking age in France is 16, I believe. It was when I was there in 2002 anyways).
