It was a close call, but with four votes, A Hard Day's Night finally called it a day.
After beginning with 26 songs, we are now down to the final two, Ticket to Ride and We Can Work It Out. Which one of these songs will be our Survivor champion?
Vote for the song you want to see eliminated, not the one you want to win. Voting will be open through at least early Sunday afternoon Pacific time. Our next game, The Eagles Greatest Hits Vol. 1, will begin Sunday as well.
For discussion, what would have been your ideal pairing of the two remaining songs?
I'm voting to boot We Can Work It Out. My ideal pairing would have been a showdown between Ticket to Ride and Day Tripper.
How about you?

We Can Work it Out is gone.
As for my fantasy final, it would have been Ticket to Ride vs Please, Please Me. Gotta love the old ones.

See, mine would have been "Ticket To Ride" vs. "Eight Days A Week". I love both of those songs.
And, while we're here, let's make it unanimous for now...

Still 24 hours or so to vote if you haven't done so yet. From the results so far, it looks like this is gonna be a blowout!

Well, I was totally ambivalent with my two faves (I Want To Hold Your Hand and In My Life) being unceremoniouslly cast by the wayside long ago (almost made me want to YAGE and hug my stuffed animal while listening to my Whitney's Greatest Hits album -- but I relized I had no Whitney album, and my stuffed animal is in the laundry -- uh -- I mean I don't have any stuffed animals).
But anyway, as I was posting here on the Click, the 60s on 6 (XM) was runnng in the background, and it started to play Ticket to Ride, and I was enjoying it, so I voted to eliminate We Can Work It out.

John Lennon once referred to Ticket To Ride as "The first Heavy Metal song". While I don't hear it, personally, it IS my favorite of the two finalists.
Also interesting to note is that Ticket To Ride is the only song on the red album to break the three minute mark.

Well, it looks as though the final round was pretty decisive - We Can Work It Out received seven votes to become the last casualty of the game.
Our Beatles Red Album Survivor champion is: Ticket to Ride!!!![/size]
I'm happy with this result, as Ticket to Ride is my favorite Beatles song, but I am a little surprised it prevailed. At the beginning of the game, I was thinking that possibly In My Life or A Hard Day's Night would be our champion. But this album is loaded with gems, so it was cool to see how it all played out.
Thanks for playing. Let's start our second Album Survivor game!

I've heard that heavy metal thing about Ticket to Ride thing also. In fact, I'm wondering if I didn't hear it here on The Click. I remember a heavy metal thread where I mentioned that I heard that Iron Butterfly was the first heavy metal band (hence the name Heavy Metal) and someone else mentioned another band for a similar reason,m, and then someone (maybe you) mentioned Ticket To Ride.

Yes, it was a thread Adam started a few years ago titled, "Stepping Stones to Heavy Metal." It used to be on the old Rock and Roll genre board, but was moved to Questions when I consolidated the boards. I had not really thought about Ticket to Ride being metal prior to that discussion, but when I listen to it now, I can kinda hear the beginnings of a more guitar-heavy, heavy-metal sound.

I do not watch the CBS "Survivor", but this was fun. The Eagles should be interesting.

I'll have to go with the majority here, even though I'm a day late...... Oh well. Yay for "Ticket"!
