Almost HALFWAY THERE!!

Updating from over the weekend...AGAIN a reminder for newcomers that the voting is still open for ALL rounds...

The record being replaced THIS round is...a tough one to remove..."Life's Been Good" by Joe Walsh. Forgive me.

ROUND 5 has a FIVE-WAY snarl for first place, but the tie breakers currently point towards "Porpoise Song" (making it the second Monkees song to win a round) and "Black Water" advancing to consolations...

ROUND 6 has "Time Has Come Today" thumpin' the competition, while "Just Like Me" currently is a distant second...

ROUND 7 is another "duke's mixture" of tunes--from fratboy/garage (DIRTY WATER and HANG ON SLOOPY) to classic soul (DRIFT AWAY, ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE) to legendary non-hits (RIVER DEEP MOUNTAIN HIGH) to the wonderfully strange and exotic (LOVE IS STRANGE, SPACE ODDITY, TELEPHONE LINE), music that was played when I took off my wife's garter at our wedding reception (KEEP YOUR HANDS TO YOURSELF )...and of course, music which sounds like God Himself was playing drums (FINGERTIPS Pt 2)...

For me, FINGERTIPS Pt 1/2 (featuring God on drums) was an easy #1, with "Drift Away" just a nudge ahead of "Telephone Line" and "Space Oddity"...
