Inspired by Viki's '60s playlist post and 70sChild's birthday (has anyone been in touch with her lately?), I thought I'd post a Billboard Top 10 poll from the Summer of Love.
Lots of good songs here, so it's a close call, but I went with Up Up and Away. I remember hearing that song when I was very young, and have always loved it.
Which is your favorite?

Those are 10 outstanding songs Dawn, I remember Up, Up, & Away seemed to be always on the radio.
My choice is Light My Fire. It's a classic, one for the ages, and probably one of the top two or three songs ever made (imo).

To answer this question, I went back to my Top 250 countdown that I did about 4 years ago because what I said then has not changed:
#141 San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Flowers in Your Hair) – Scott McKenzie (1967, #4). If there is one song that sums up the sixties better than any other (politically, culturally, musically, socially) it’s this one. It’s amazing how such a beautiful yet simple song could say it all about The Summer of Love and the entire crazy decade. When I think about it, I’m surprised I didn’t rank it higher.

I went with A Whiter Shade Of Pale. What a great track I also heard Up, Up and Away when I was really young along with many of their' other hits. My mom bought a greatest hits album of their's which I still have.

Oooh.....that's tough. I had to go with "Windy". I love the Association and have adored that song since I was a little girl. The same goes for "Light My Fire" and "Up Up and Away", but I think that's my fave of all.
