I had my scanner warmed up since I just posted that 39 cent 45 "baggie". So I thought I'd start a new feature. I'll post one or more sleeves every now and then. Feel free to do the same. Here's a real oldie from 1959.

Hi Ed,
I don't have that sleeve. It's in really nice condition (how old is Frankie in this pic around 17?).
However, I did have a copy of the 45 that I sold at one of our record shows a few years back. It was in a collection I had bought.

However, I did have a copy of the 45 that I sold at one of our record shows a few years back. It was in a collection I had bought. Frankie was born in Sept 1939. The song was a hit in early '59, so I'd guess he was probably 19, maybe 18. The 45 and sleeve is from my "original" collection. I bought it new at the time, and stored it in my first 45s box. It was a metal box that held 75 45s. Fortunately, I didn't throw away or lose the sleeve. I stored most of the records in the file box without sleeves as there were manila dividers for each record in the box! Somehow I had the sense to save the sleeve even though at 14 or 15, I didn't give a hoot as to what Frankie Avalon looked like, and considered picture sleeves to be pre-teen girl territory.

Frankie certainly does look young in that pic - nice shot of him.
I don't remember coming across many Frankie Avalon sleeves while record hunting, and I'm guessing they must be quite rare, especially in nice condition such as this one.

It's the only Frankie sleeve I own. I thought I had one of "Why" but if I do, it's not on the 45.
