On Sunday, June 28, 1970, Led Zeppelin, Jefferson Airplane, Mothers of Invention, Byrds, and many others stormed the rainy stage at the Bath Festival of Progressive Blues and Music in the UK.. And somewhere thousands of miles away on that very same day, I made the headlines in the maternity ward, making my own loud music.... waaaaaaaa! What happened in music on the day or month you were born?

Apparently June 26, 1955 was a slow music news day. The only thing I could find was that guitarist Mick Jones & I share the same birthday.

The only thing I could find for January 14, 1966 was that the Greatful Dead had a concert at the legendary Fillmore Auditorium...but, weren't they performing there almost DAILY at that juncture?

Probably..... But you don't have to list what concerts were being performed. If you want to note which song was number one or which band was getting arrested for drunkenly hacking apart their hotel room with chainsaws on that date, that's okay too.

The number one single was "War" by Edwin Starr The number one album was "Cosmo's Factory" by Creedence Clearwater Revival. This was recently released and remastered for the first time in years! How I would love to have an air check from a top 40 station or one from a rock station from the week I was born! A man can dream!

March 25, 1944. Just about anything going on had to do with WW2. Not a lot of music information. But I did find that Lois Armstrong was performing in Milwaukee with the ABC Victory Parade of Spotlight Bands. I guess I could add that Diana Ross was born the next day. (Damn! She's one OLD lady! -- Oh -- wait a minute! )

May 18, 1981. A man by the name of Dave McKenna released a record of private solo piano recordings. The date actually appears on the record itself, so I guess that's kind of cool. The #1 song was Bette Davis Eyes, by Kim Carnes...and apparently, it stayed that way for most of the summer of '81. That's about it, though.

Yep, I remember that song was huge during late spring and summer of that year. That was a good period for music - a lot of those songs still hold up well.

Proof positive that I ALWAYS miss the excitement. ;D
