Haven't shared a CD for a while. This is one I made a few days ago. It features the train. I've always loved trains, had the obligatory set as a kid. But trains are can be frustrating as well. Like when you're stuck behind the gate with those annoying bells & lights watching a 100+ car train go by while you're late for work. Got the usual stuff & maybe some surprises. Anyway, mostly rock, little twang, some R&B. Enjoy!!
Train Kept A-Rolling (live) - Aerosmith The Loco-Motion - Grand Funk Railroad Johnny B. Goode - Chuck Berry Promised Land - Dave Edmunds Same Old Train - Alison Krauss, Clint Black, Earl Scruggs, Emmylou Harris, Joe Diffie, Marty Stuart, Merle Haggard, Patty Loveless, Ricky Scaggs Long Train Running - Doobie Brothers Downbound Train - Bruce Springsteen Train Leaves Here This Morning - Eagles Homeward Bound - Simon & Garfunkel Last Train to Clarksville - Peter Tork & the Shoe Suede Blues Casey Jones - Grateful Dead City of New Orleans - Arlo Guthrie The Gambler - Kenny Rogers Poor, Poor Pitiful Me - Linda Ronstadt Southern Streamline - John Fogerty South's Gonna Do it Again - Charlie Daniels Band Mystery Train - Paul Butterfield Blues Band Night Train - James Brown Gone Dead Train - George Thorogood & the Destroyers Train, Train - Blackfoot Train Kept A-Rollin' - Yardbirds

I like it, great comp! I was stuck at a railroad crossing a couple of days ago, that was one long train, it seemed to take forever! lol

A great collection of tracks, Woody. I like how you've bookended the CD with the different versions of Train Kept A-Rollin. The order of the tracks flows well, and there's a nice variety of styles, too.

That is quite an eclectic collections of trains, Woody!
I think you hit 'em all except for Chattanooga Choo-Choo and Chick-a-train (Albert Hammond).

A song I like that would fit in nicely with this collection is "Bound For Hell" by Love and Rockets. Though not a popular song by any means, it's a really cool bluesy shuffle that's like 8 minutes long.

A song I like that would fit in nicely with this collection is "Bound For Hell" by Love and Rockets. Though not a popular song by any means, it's a really cool bluesy shuffle that's like 8 minutes long. Finally found the song on Rhapsody. You're right Pete, that song would have fit in very nicely between Blackfoot & the Yardbirds. I liked the harmonica sound that went all they through the whole song. I'll have to add Love & Rockets to my "look for" list next time I go CD shopping. Thanks for bringing another artist into my fold.
