Hendrix Drummer Mitch Mitchell has died.

I just read about this seconds ago, very very sad. Another fine musician has left us, he was 62. Mitch was among my favorite drummers.

This honestly depressed me when I heard about it....especially how and where he died, in a motel room whole on the road in a makeshift "tribute" oldies tour...very sad.

I was (still am) a MAJOR Jimi Hendrix Experience fan--and it ticks me off when compilations are released that do not give Mitchell and Noel Redding proper credit as band members, and not just sidemen. History has shown that Hendrix was at his peak with Mitchel'sl drumming style complementing his fire.

I agree with Grem that both Mitchell and Redding's contributions tend to be overlooked. Not taking anything away from Jimi, as he was an amazing talent, but the others in the band should be given credit as well.
