5.0 - A song you absolutely love, one of your absolute favorites 4.0 - While not quite top-tier, a song you enjoy a lot 3.0 - Not a favorite, but you basically like it 2.0 - A "meh" song, you could take it or leave it 1.0 - Yikes! Turn that song off! **************************************************** Time Won't Let Me - Outsiders 3.5 #9 Dream - John Lennon 5.0 (my favorite John Lennon solo track) No Reply At All - Genesis 4.0 The Lion Sleeps Tonight - Tokens 1.5 (was never fond of this, or the '70s remake by Robert John) Don't Leave Me This Way - Thelma Houston 3.75 Footloose - Kenny Loggins 3.5 (I generally like Kenny's music, but I'm still a bit tired of this) Words - Monkees 4.35 (I love the murky, spooky quality of this. Very cool track) Holdin' On to Yesterday - Ambrosia 5.0 (I remember listening to this on a little transistor radio I had as a kid. I've always loved this song; even used the title for a name extension on YL!) Love Me Tender - Elvis Presley 3.35 The Reflex - Duran Duran 4.0 Oh How Happy - Shades of Blue 3.25 (pleasant little song I used to hear quite often on the oldies stations. Now, I can't remember the last time I heard it) Livin' Thing - Electric Light Orchestra 4.2 (I thought this song was called "Higher and Higher" back in the day!) Every Time You Go Away - Paul Young 2.0 Aubrey - Bread 4.15 Leader of the Pack - Shangri-Las 3.0

Leader of the Pack - Shangri-Las 3.5 (who's that banging on the piano Murray?)

Time Won't Let Me - Outsiders 5.0 #9 Dream - John Lennon 5.0 Dawn, this is also one of my all time favorite tracks from John's solo career. I found a very nice original copy of the single in the mid 80's. I can't say enough great things about it No Reply At All - Genesis 4.4 I remember my brother included this along with Abacab on a mix tape he made for me back in the early 80's which I still have! The Lion Sleeps Tonight - Tokens 3.5 I liked this better than the Robert John remake Don't Leave Me This Way - Thelma Houston 3.2 Footloose - Kenny Loggins 3.5 I don't mind hearing it once in awhile. Words - Monkees 4.35 A great tune I discovered from watching the TV shows after school in the late 70's. Holdin' On to Yesterday - Ambrosia 5.0 I first heard this on Ktel's Music Express. It has a real "dream like" quality to it. Love Me Tender - Elvis Presley 4.3 The Reflex - Duran Duran 2.5 Oh How Happy - Shades of Blue 4.5 I was not familiar with the title so I looked it up on youtube and I'm now listening to it as I type this, it's an excellent song! Livin' Thing - Electric Light Orchestra 5.0 I 've mentioned here before that I first heard this around Christmas of '76 while at my Aunt and Uncle's house for a family party, the stereo was on and one of the local radio stations played it. LOVE it even more now than I did back then. Every Time You Go Away - Paul Young 3.0 Whatever happened to him? Aubrey - Bread 4.5 Leader of the Pack - Shangri-Las 4.5

Time Won't Let Me - Outsiders 3.2 I knew a guy back in the mid '70s who claimed he played bass on this recording. I can't find his name anywhere in associated with the song or band - I suppose he could have been a session musician, but he was kind of a weird guy and could have made it up (although he seemed to know about the group and was surprised that I had heard of Sonny Geraci). Good song though
#9 Dream - John Lennon 3.7 Good song
No Reply At All - Genesis 3.0 It's a nice poppy sound. I like the horns by EW&F, but I've never cared that much for Phil's Voice.
The Lion Sleeps Tonight - Tokens 3.0 I always considered this a cover of the Kingston Trio's version of "Wimmoweh" - and I though it was a good cover.
Don't Leave Me This Way - Thelma Houston 3.8 Good soul music!
Footloose - Kenny Loggins 2.7 I thought the movie was silly, and didn't really care much for most of the songs from there.
Words - Monkees 4.0 Very good song, one not heard that often.
Holdin' On to Yesterday - Ambrosia 3.5 Pretty song, although the lyrics probably keep it from being rated higher. They are fairly trite.
Love Me Tender - Elvis Presley 4.0 Mainly for the memories of being young. Also where I first realised that Elvis could sing as well as rock.
The Reflex - Duran Duran 3.0 Not a big fan, but not as bad song.
Oh How Happy - Shades of Blue 3.2 Good song. I am surprised how many people know it. I've always thought it was rather obscure, and was neither a huge hit single
Livin' Thing - Electric Light Orchestra 3.5 I like most of ELO's music, but some of their songs sound too similar to one another. I've found that lately I have a hard time listenning to an ELO compilation from beginning to end. -- But listen to a single song or maybe s is okay. This song taken alone is a good song.
Every Time You Go Away - Paul Young 3.0 Dion't really mind this at all the way you other guys do.
Aubrey - Bread 4.6 A beautiful song. Probably my second fave by Bread. It will rate quite high in my top 500 (which may be done by years end - or maybe not til next year).
Leader of the Pack - Shangri-Las 1.5 Sorry guys. The only reason gets any points at all from me is the fact that it has become a cult classic. As a song, it is laughable. The Shangri-Las could sing. They didn't bother to with this song. The lyrics are both trite and stupid, and they glorify an idiot. The best part of the song is the hilarious parody of it by Ron Dante (The Detergents).

Time Won't Let Me - Outsiders 4.5 (I love this song!)
#9 Dream - John Lennon 4.5 (This one, too!)
No Reply At All - Genesis 4.5 (And this one, for three in a row! I like the intensity of this song.)
The Lion Sleeps Tonight - Tokens 1.0 (But I can't stand this one.... I never was fond of it, then once in a music theory class in college, we had to analyze this one for some reason.....over and over......until we were all 'a weem a wepping crazy.)
Don't Leave Me This Way - Thelma Houston 3.0
Footloose - Kenny Loggins 1.0 (Reminds me of the 7th grade. Nuff said)
Words - Monkees 4.8 (Great song!!! I even like the "alternate" version with the backwards stuff at the end...)
Holdin' On to Yesterday - Ambrosia 3.0
Love Me Tender - Elvis Presley 2.5
The Reflex - Duran Duran 3.0 (My sister was a Duranimal, so I've passively been exposed to a wide range of their music. Every time I hear that song, the "reflex flex flex flex flex" goes through my head a zillion times before it finally fades a day or so later. What really IS the Reflex?)
Oh How Happy - Shades of Blue 3.5
Livin' Thing - Electric Light Orchestra 3.2 (I like ELO's energy.....and in a way, it reminds me of my childhood, although I don't know of anyone who listened to that kind of music around me back then.)
Every Time You Go Away - Paul Young 2.0
Aubrey - Bread 3.0 (Not my favorite Bread song, but it's a pretty song.)
Leader of the Pack - Shangri-Las 2.0

It was offered as an early-morning elective when I was in high school, and in retrospect, I wish I'd taken the class.
