Our scale: 5.0 - A song you absolutely love, one of your absolute favorites 4.0 - While not quite top-tier, a song you enjoy a lot 3.0 - Not a favorite, but you basically like it 2.0 - A "meh" song, you could take it or leave it 1.0 - Yikes! Turn that song off! **************************************************** Dance to the Music - Sly & the Family Stone 3.5 Jet - Paul McCartney 4.5 (have loved this ever since I was a kid. Awesome rocker!) Talking in Your Sleep - Romantics 3.5 Pinball Wizard - The Who 3.5 September - Earth, Wind & Fire 4.5 (listening to this always puts me in a great mood. Love the horns!) What Have I Done to Deserve This? - Pet Shop Boys & Dusty Springfield 3.25 (just heard this over the weekend, after not having heard it in eons) Come A Little Bit Closer - Jay & the Americans 3.0 Sky High - Jigsaw 4.5 (love this! Reminds me of the roller rink I used to go to in the '70s) I Saw Him Standing There - Tiffany 1.0 (ack!) Hello Mary Lou - Rick Nelson 3.0 Money - Pink Floyd 4.25 Glory Days - Bruce Springsteen 1.75 (definitely a case of overplay ruining a song for me) Don't You Care - Buckinghams 4.0 (my favorite of the Buckinghams' hits) Gold - John Stewart 4.75 Say It Isn't So - Hall & Oates 3.5

Talking in Your Sleep - Romantics 4.0 (Definitely my favourite of the 2 hits they're known for)
Pinball Wizard - The Who 3.0 (Not bad, but there's other Who songs I like better)
September - Earth, Wind & Fire 5.0 (It's hard to sit through this song without moving!)

Come A Little Bit Closer - Jay & the Americans 2.5

Hello Mary Lou - Rick Nelson 2.75
Money - Pink Floyd 4.25
Glory Days - Bruce Springsteen 2.5 (Overplayed...yes...but it still is a good song to listen to when bar-hopping!)

Dance to the Music - Sly & the Family Stone 3.0 Decent
Jet - Paul McCartney 3.9 Good one!
Talking in Your Sleep - Romantics 2.3 Just don't really care for it.
Pinball Wizard - The Who 2.7 The whole rock opera concept was so revolutionary - and the music was quite good. But - this song (probably the most well known from Tommy) I always considered kinda weak.
September - Earth, Wind & Fire 2.2 I just could never get into their music.
What Have I Done to Deserve This? - Pet Shop Boys & Dusty Springfield 4.4 This song was so unusual that it made me listen, and i got to like it more and more. Top 500!
Come A Little Bit Closer - Jay & the Americans 3.3 Jay Black had a great voice. The only problem with thwe song is that "story songs" shouldn't be listened to too often. This was overplayed.
Sky High - Jigsaw 4.4 Great song. Brings back some great memories of the mid '70s as well. Top 500!
I Saw Him Standing There - Tiffany 0.0000001 The only thing possibly worse than Tiffany covering a Beatles song would be if she were singing a duet with Michael Bolton covering a Beatles song.
Hello Mary Lou - Rick Nelson 3.4 Always liked this.
Money - Pink Floyd 3.6 It's a good song, but it's not what I want to hear if I'm listening to Pink Floyd.
Glory Days - Bruce Springsteen 3.3 Good one
Don't You Care - Buckinghams 3.7 Remeber back in the first year or two of the Click, the Buckinghams were discussed in depth many times - mainly about how underrated they were.
Gold - John Stewart 4.4 Yet another top 500 song!
Say It Isn't So - Hall & Oates 2.9 H&O just never excited me.

MC, your description of Glory Days is spot-on. It does seem to drag, but not in a smooth way.

That entire album is amazing, one of my favorites. Listening to September always reminds me of Christmas '78. I used to love hearing it when it came on the radio, and even though I've heard it hundreds of times since then, I've never grown tired of it.

You're right about story songs, Ed - they do tend to lose some of their impact after repeated listens. I remember hearing it a lot on oldies stations years ago, although not as much nowadays. Yes, I've been checking out the Buckinghams' music in more depth since that time, and they were definitely underrated. Lots of good influences in their music.

Same here about Talking in Your Sleep! Every time I hear it, it's like being transported in time back to sophomore year. LOL about Tiffany! I never really understood that whole "mall-hype" thing. She had a decent voice, but I didn't like the way she covered the Tommy James and Beatles songs at all. Yikes!

The thing about Money - even when they "blip" out the offending word, it's not too much of a stretch to fill it in. I guess that was their way of getting around the censor. I like Say It Isn't So, but I agree it's not among their best.

I agree, Woody, about adding more Floyd songs to radio playlists. It seems like you only hear Money, Another Brick in the Wall, Hey You and Comfortably Numb. I'd like to hear more of their earlier material.
