The whole rock opera concept was so revolutionary - and the music was quite good. But - this song (probably the most well known from Tommy) I always considered kinda weak.

You're right about story songs, Ed - they do tend to lose some of their impact after repeated listens. I remember hearing it a lot on oldies stations years ago, although not as much nowadays. Yes, I've been checking out the Buckinghams' music in more depth since that time, and they were definitely underrated. Lots of good influences in their music. |
