Saw this thread on another site and thought it would be a good discussion topic here.
As avid music fans, we will often have multiple albums by artists we enjoy. But, sometimes there are cases where we own just one album from an artist's catalog.
What are some of the "one-album artists" in your collection? They can be on any format - LP, CD, or cassette.
Some of mine:
Aerosmith - I currently own only Rocks, on LP. I used to have Greatest Hits (the original with the red cover) on cassette.
Joe Jackson - Just Night and Day, on cassette. I've considered getting Body and Soul.
John Mellencamp - I have Uh-Huh on cassette. I do have mp3s of many of his singles, but that's the only entire album I currently own.
Manfred Mann - Just Manfred Mann's Earth Band Greatest Hits, on CD.
Janis Joplin - Just her Greatest Hits, on CD.
Bay City Rollers - I have their Greatest Hits on CD, although I have thought about getting Dedication as well.
Procul Harum - A Best of collection, on CD.
I'll add to the list as I think of more. What are some of yours?

Ah, dear... Since we're including LP as well I'm going to have to do some digging for this one! There are probably quite a few LPs I'm leaving out - Ken's post just reminded of one I missed. I don't play my LPs much anymore, so I kinda forget what I have.

That was one of the first CDs I owned - picked it up at a library sale. I should get that Bangles collection - I don't have much from them apart from a few mp3s.

I think the Bangles album was released around 1990. I know this because it had the singles "Eternal Flame" and "In Your Room", which I believe were their final singles as a band before Susanna Hoffs embarked on her solo career. But, it was basically all of their hits released between 1983 and 1990 (I think "Going Down To Liverpool" was the first single on the album, but can't be sure). Unlike most greatest hits albums, the songs on the Bangles album were released in chronological order.

Ya can't just search for Joy of Cooking though or you get hundreds of cooking videos. ;D

What are some of yours? Well Dawn, Since I own over 700 CD's this list could be somewhat lengthy! There are those artists that I own just one CD or in some cases LP or even cassette. Since I know time is precious, I have compiled a condensed list for you. CD's Air Supply - Greatest Hits Luther Allison (blues guitarist) ABBA - Gold Bad Company - 10 from 6 Alabama - Cheap Seats. I bought the CD for "Angels Among Us". B52's - Cosmic Thing Bad English Barenaked Ladies - Best of Al Green - Greatest Hits Stylistics - Greatest Hits Cyndi Lauper - Greatest Hits Temple of the Dog Korn - Follow the Leader Ramones - 30 Loudest, Fastest & Greatest Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bullocks. Did they even have a second album? Kanye West - Graduation Monkees - Greatest Hits Was Not Was - Are You Okay? This second CD was more avant garde than the first. In fact, their first CD, I lent to someone, but wasn't returned. 10,000 Maniacs - In My Tribe Sundays - Reading, Writing & Arithmetic Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense ZZ Top - Greatest Hits I would like to get a few more CD's of these aforementioned artists. But sometimes, you need only one CD from certain performers.

There are a lot of cases where I like to dig deeper in an artist's catalog, but sometimes just one album, especially a greatest hits collection, is all I need. Your mention of Cyndi Lauper reminds me of yet another one of mine - I have She's So Unusual on cassette.

While reading through Juggy's reply, I noticed one CD I forgot to include (although I sure there are others i've missed, I'll have to check later)
The Wallflowers - Bringing Down The Horse ( I listened to this not long ago, and it's still an excellent album!)
