I had never heard of "Let Me Take You Dancing," so I did some research on it. It was Bryan's first record - a disco song. I understand that the reason that he didn't like it was that the record producers thought it was too slow for disco, so speeded up the tempo As a result, Bryan (who has you know, has a pretty powerful voice) sounded like Alvin and the Chipmunks. No wonder Bryan didn't care for it. I listened to it -- it's horrid!!

I heard that song on a disco-themed radio show, and when they announced it was by Bryan Adams, I remember thinking, "This is THE Bryan Adams? The 'Cuts Like A Knife' Bryan Adams?" It's definitely different-sounding from his '80s and beyond hits, I agree.

I don't own any of those Bryan Adams compilations, so I cannot really comment on them...but I do have Bryan Adams' Unplugged album, which is more or less a recording of his appearance on that show. Great music though...I'm actually one of those who prefers the acoustic version of "I'm Ready" than the studio version. And, yes, Ed...Summer of '69 is on this album too...first cut, actually. But of course Summer of 69 is on there! Unplugged albums are ok, but that kinda goes along with Ken's "alternate takes" theory. It's a good suplement for me, but can't replace the originals.
