Just listened to this live version and fell in love with the song all over again.

Hands down, my favorite ELO track. And I only recently discovered this slightly alternate version. Drove myself nuts looking for a download until I found it on Amazon:

I've loved these guys from a very early age; bought the "Evil Woman" and "Strange Magic" 45s when they were current. I think I'll put on one of their albums today.

This is my favorite of their songs, and my #4 song of all time. (It's also my favorite '80s song overall.)



I remember going to see Xanadu at the theater, about a week or so before I started junior high school. Hard to believe that will be 30 years ago this summer!

Railyn, have you ever heard the original by The Move? They were the group that morphed into ELO. It was recorded originally in 1972 with Jeff Lynne singing lead.
