Johnny Maestro, the frontman for the '50s Doo Wop group The Crests and later the lead singer of The Brooklyn Bridge died yesterday at 70. I had the pleasure of listening to Johnny and the Brooklyn Bridge in concert in 1970 at the University of Maine. One of the really good volcalists of the rock era. RIP, Johnny. www.variety.com/article/VR1118016897.html?categoryid=16&cs=1&ref=ma

What a voice! I saw him on of those PBS doowop shows. He also did a really nice version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas".
