I've never heard "Peg O My Heart," but judging from that '40s chart, it must have been very popular!
Interesting to see how the song titles progressed from the very innocent-sounding "Love Letters in the Sand" and "Teenage Romance" in the '50s to "Bitch" and "G.H.E.T.T.O.U.T." in the '90s.
I remember the Spice Girl craze of the time...there was even some speculation at one time that their popularity would rival the Beatles. It wasn't long after "Say You'll Be There," though, that the group faded away.
