Hey Gang, I was browsing around youtube a few nights ago, playing different video clips at random and stumbled upon a video someone made containing "Run Joey Run." The person who uploaded the video claimed that Justin Bieber was actually singing the girl vocal parts . I then noticed in the sidebar of related videos just how many different clips there were of the song including a clip from the TV show "Glee." It looks as if the song has been discovered by a whole new audience of teens because of the inclusion in the show. Yikes! of all the song the producers could have used why did they choose that piece of cheese? I guess David Geddes is happy though, after all he gets some royalties.

Let's not be too harsh- not everyone can have the depth and maturity of the Archies...

Justin Bieber?! That song was way, way before his time. I agree, there's a ton of songs the Glee producers could have gone with instead of that one. Unless it was purposely chosen for the camp factor...I dunno.

Wow, I'm lucky if I even hear that last one!(To be fair though, WSEN in Syracuse hasn't referred to itself as an "oldies" station in quite a while; now it's "the greatest hits" while playing mostly mid-70s to late-80s : Yay for Music Choice!

Indeed, Smitty. Cable and satellite music stations seem to be the only iones worth listening to. Since you pay a cable or satellite fee to get them, they are not so worried about demographics for advertising. I think we've had discussions before as to what the word "oldies" really means. It was at first any song X months or years old. Then it came to be any song from the '50s or '60s. Then '70s were added, but, unfortunately. '50s were removed. I don't really think "oldies" is a good name for a music genre since it really doesn't describe a kind of music any more. - But maybe we should email the guru of genres, Retromaniac, to get the real answer. ;D

The play list shrinks....songs are edited for "time"....the same ones get played several times a day EVERY DAY!

And as an aside, when they played "You're The One That I Want" from the Grease sountrack, I mentioned that I'd recently discovered the, ummm, "risque* lyrics of "Greased Lightning," such as "p***y wagon." She said, "That's gross." ;D
