1963: The Beatles visit the Crawdaddy Club in Richmond-upon-Thames, Surrey, England, to see an unsigned band called The Rolling Stones.
I researched this a little. It turns out that the two groups met during a Stones' set break. The Beatles stayed for the second set, and then stayed and talked with the Stones about music into the wee hours of the night.
