Because I burn my fair share of discs ,I usually by the spindle of 50. Which means I try to find the best deal that I can.
But in the past I 've bought Sony , Pioneer , Memorex , Fuji and Maxell . I've also bought cheaper brands as well locally like Inet and Cicero . Cicero, from what a salesman told me are either made by Sony or Fuji . I haven't had problems with any of them.

Well I haven't bought any yet, but I would probably go for Pioneer and Sony.
Memorex always gave me trouble on VHS and cassette tapes.

It's usually Maxell for me (they're cheaper generally and I have no trouble with them), and I've also used Memorex (very good) and I believe both Sony and Fuji once or twice, but I found the price to be higher and the quality just about the same as the less expensive brands.

It's a lesser known brand "Hi Val"--bought 2 spindles of 100 nearly THREE (!) years ago, and I still have quite a few empty disks yet to burn on...

It's mainly Memorex or TDK. No trouble with either.

I've had the best luck with Maxell & Sony. I've had the most trouble with Memorex.

So far I've only used Maxell, and haven't had any problems with them. I agree with you and Adam about Memorex cassettes - I've had more problems with them than any other brand. Back in the '90s. I recorded several dozen mix tapes using them, and almost all of them have been eaten by one of my cassette players since! I've always had good luck with TDK tapes, though.

Ok, now that I download, I finally can share! LOL!
I always go to Circuit City because they usually have great deals in bulk. And the brand that's been on sale each week is Phillips. No problem with them whatsoever so far.
And none of you have said you use them yet...

I don't think they sell them locally up here.

Circuit City always has great deals-do you have them up there? Actually I'm going there tonight or tomorrow-they have like a 50 pack of blank DVDs (TDK I believe!) for only $8! I'm also probably having a new disc player put in my car too. In our mini van, we have a CD and tape player, but in my car I take for work, only a tape player. For a long time, I was using a discman Bekki got me, but that broke. Since I am making all these CD's, I'm eliminating tapes anyway. And Circuit City has a deal-free installation on all systems under $99 (which is how much this Pioneer is).

No problem with them whatsoever so far. And none of you have said you use them yet... I had bought a Phillips spindle a couple of years ago when I was compiling multi-disc sets for each year from '71-82. I ran out somewhere around disc 3 of 1981 and had to get another spindle. Unfortunately I was unable to find the Phillips brand again (in about 5 different stores!) and had to buy a different brand. I was PISSED, because I'm anal about stuff like that! I wanted the whole series to be on those Phillips discs. Aside from that, I really haven't had any bad luck with any particular brand, HOWEVER-If you have a computer CD burner do NOT buy CD-R's that say "Audio" or "Music" on them! They will not work on a computer CD-writer for some reason, they only work on Stereo componant CD burners. (Please don't ask me why this is, I have NO idea..) So, only buy ones that say "Data". (I know it totally makes no sense, since it's music you're putting on them, but those are the ones that work).

We don't have Circuit City up here but I have seen their TV Ad's.We do have Best Buy as well as another chain store that are Canadian called Future Shop which is basically the same as "Best" and "Circuit". We have those free installation deals up here too.
