Ken asked me awhile back if I were going to do another "Need recommendations" post. I thought this one was perfect since this fellow Canadian to Ken is one of his fave artists. Actually, I asked Ken back on YL for recommendations on these 2 albums, but alas, we know what happened there...... I have on vinyl Bryan's self titled debut and You Want it, You Got it. What are some of the best on those?

I have So Far So Good on disc and these are represented. But I think he has come out with another Hits package-are any of these on there? Would you say these songs similar in style to the Reckles stuff?

The songs from "You Want It" are similar in style to Reckless but the songs on the debut are more on the "pop" side.

Ken, have you ever heard any of his stuff with Sweeney Todd? Or Nick Gilder with them? Wondering what it's like!

Oh yeah - cool I didn't know that I had the album Bryan did with Sweeney Todd called If Wishes Were Horses but didn't get a chance to listen to it 'cause it was in terrible shape so I chucked it - It was included in a collection I bought a long time ago. I see that some of it is going to be released on a CD called Bryan Adams - The Early Years. I've seen the album Nick did with Sweeney Todd which is self titled . But the only two songs I've heard from it were Roxy Roller and the b side called The Kilt which is an instrumental . My middle brother and I both bought the 45 back in '76 . Both are excellent songs. Roxy was a big hit here reaching #7 - it gets played on the radio quite regularly and I also have it on a CD compilation as well.

How come they re-recorded that one tune with each singer-just an attempt to get a hit with either singer?

I guess so yeah , I just did a search on Nick and discovered there are four versions ? !! 1.The original '76 version with Nick 2.One apparently with Nick's original replacement - a guy named Clark Perry (who? LOL) 3. Bryan's ' 77 version 4. A "Nick" remake done for the U.S. at his label's insistance because there were legal problems with the other two remakes. Nick still tours with a version of Sweeney Todd as well.
