Do you have certain artists you like to listen to at a certain time every year? I was just thinking about this, since a lot of times I would first get into an artist at a certain time of year, and I'd always associate it with that season/month.
Oldies were usually a winter thing for me, because I spent a lot of time indoors during the winter as a child, and I played my sisters 60's pop records.
I tend to get into a lot of the "Have A Nice Day" stuff in early spring, when the weather starts to get warm.
Chicago and the Rolling Stones have usually been fall kicks.
Kiss/other 80's metal is a late spring/summer thing.
Classic Rock (Steppenwolf, CCR, ZZ Top etc), is a late summer thing.
New Wave sounds good in the winter, since a lot of it is kinda dark and "cold" sounding.
I usually like a lot of McCartney/Wings in the spring, because I first got into that stuff in the spring of '84.
And ironically, my favorite group, The Beach Boys, long known as a staple of summer, sun and fun, I listen to year-round!

Good topic!
Don't really have any in particular, but like most here, I get into my Christmas CD's only in December each year.

Great topic, Pete! Let's see... I listen to the Beatles mostly during the fall and early winter. Also in the fall and winter, I've tended to listen more to smooth jazz than at other times of year. Paul McCartney I generally listen to more in the summer, as I remember hearing his songs a lot on the radio that time of year when I was growing up, and hearing the songs now reminds me of those days. Oldies is also a summer listen, especially artists like the Rascals and Spanky & Our Gang. I'm with you about the Boys - they are a year-round listen for me as well! There's almost always at least one of their CDs in my changer at any given time.

It's funny. With me, music is music. I'd just as soon listen to a surfing song in the winter and It's Now Winter's Day in July.
