The current score: DJDave 37 Sat 30 dodger 25 Pete 23 Dawn 22 Railyn 19 Rali 15 KittyKat 10 Everybody Else 0 O.K. --- today's, I think, is going to be a little bit harder. The titles will not be enough - you'll need to know what the songs are about. (Sorry, Adam ) Todays artists: The Kingston Trio Tom Jones The Bee Gees Name that theme!

I thought for sure I'd be able to figure this out, but it was really damn hard! I think I may be on the right track but I don't think I have the right Bee Gees song. But even though I know their catalog of songs like the back of my hand I can't for the life of me figure out which song of theirs fits.
Anyway my guess at today's theme: Songs about men that killed/hurt women they love out of jealousy?
Kingston Trio - "Tom Dooley" Lyrics: I met her on the mountain, there I took her life Met her on the mountain, stabbed her with my knife
Tom Jones - "Delilah" Lyrics: She stood there laughing I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more
Bee Gees - "He's A Liar" Lyrics: Well, they told me I fell but I just don't remember I was standing face down, they were there at my feet There was smoke in the air and sweet smell of leather

Nice lyrics!

I will say that getting down to that level of lyrics is the right way to approach it. Keep on trying!

Continuing with the "death" stuff...
Is it songs about men being put to death?
Kingston Trio: "Tom Dooley" - This time tomorrow reckon where I’ll be Down in some lonesome valley hangin’ from a white oak tree
Tom Jones: " Delilah" - So before they come to break down the door Forgive me Delilah I just couldn't take any more
Bee Gees: " I've Gotta Get A Message To You" - I've just got to get a message to you, hold on, hold on. One more hour and my life will be through, hold on, hold on.
[glow=red,2,300]Edited to add: DANG IT! Pete beat me to the punch by like 3 minutes!! That's what I get for not refreshing the browser before I posted. Oh well...[/glow]

Songs about men being put to death. Tom Dooley I've Gotta Get A Message To You Delilah OK Pete! - You have the correct theme, and two of the correct songs. That's good for four points. Delilah is incorrect. Although "Tom" may eventually get the death penalty, he hasn't even been arrested yet. We're looking for a different Tom Jones song.

As it turns out, you had the same answer that he did, and what I said in my reply to him still holds true.

I think I finally figured it out!!! Theme - Men being put to death Kingston Trio: "Tom Dooley" - This time tomorrow reckon where I’ll be Down in some lonesome valley hangin’ from a white oak tree Tom Jones: "Green Green Grass of Home" - Then I awake and look around me, at four grey wall surround me and I realize that I was only dreaming. For there's a guard and there's a sad old padre - arm in arm we'll walk at daybreak. [glow=red,2,300]I can't believe I didn't think of this song sooner! I was only thinking of the chorus.[/glow] Bee Gees: " I've Gotta Get A Message To You" - I've just got to get a message to you, hold on, hold on. One more hour and my life will be through, hold on, hold on. Do I get some points? ;D
